O genki desu ka? Japanese for complete beginners
If you love Japanese culture but always hit the language barrier, this is the place to start. After the first semester, you will be able to talk about yourself, your family and work, arrange a meeting (or a date), tell the time and do the shopping. In addition, you will get a grammatical foundation to build on in the future (word order, adjective and verb conjugation, particles). You will be able to read and write the Japanese syllabaries, hiragana and katakana, as well as the 50 most common kanjis.
Beyond language, you will learn plenty about Japanese culture (from names to currency to festivals). I will be happy to answer any questions you might have regarding the language or culture.
The course is conducted in Japanese and English (I can offer Czech explanation as well) and is based on Genki I. Because there is just one class every week, the course relies on self-study as well. There will be a home assignment in Moodle every week. The instruction takes into account the professional needs of academics and researchers.
